It was announced today that Evil Geniuses would be partnering with the United States Navy to produce a six-episode show on developing “the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive competitive team for America’s Navy”. This series will focus on Navy Sailors who are a part of the Navy’s first esports team, Goats and Glory. The program kicked off on March 15 with the team getting trained by EG’s world-championship CSGO team.

“As one of the industry’s founding and most storied teams, EG has a legacy of excellence, teamwork, and discipline —values we are proud to share with the Navy. We are humbled to stand shoulder to shoulder with this incredible institution, and we can’t wait to show our fans what comes next.”- EG CEO, Nicole LaPointe Jameson

The Navy has been pushing to get into esports more in order to connect with a younger crowd. They

that they were formally creating a partnership with Twitch, ESL, DBLTAP and Evil Geniuses last month.

“It’s an incredible honor to partner with America’s Navy as they take this step forward into esports,”- Nicole LaPointe Jameson

The hope will be to show that there is a crossover to a certain extent. Not only with the EvilGeniuses CSGO team be training the Navy players but, the sailors will be sharing tips on teamwork with the EG squad. They will teach them about training mental dexterity and will show how their skills as gamers can easily translate to careers in the Navy.

For the Navy itself, it will be looking to create a competitive team that can capture the attention of Gen Z esports fans.

“The skill sets utilized by Evil Geniuses – problem analysis, risk assessment, sensory perception and split-second decision-making – are the same skill sets required to succeed in critical Navy career fields, such as nuclear engineering, aviation, special warfare, cryptology and counterintelligence.”- Capt. Matt Boren, CMO at Navy Recruiting Command
